A2-10 Imperativo Afirmativo

The ‘imperativo afirmativo’ is used to give an order or permission for something.
ex. ¡Policía! ¡Abran la puerta! (Police! Open the door!)
Sal a correr. Te ayudará a adelgazar.
¿Puedo llamar? _ Sí, claro, llama.

The pronoun always follows the verb.
ex. Llama tú
Vean ustedes
Cogedlo vosotros

The ‘imperativo afirmativo’ is formed by removing the verbal termination –AR, -ER e –IR and adding the following endings.
-Regular verbs:
CANTAR
Tú CANTA
Usted CANTE
Vosotros CANTAD
Ustedes CANTEN

COMER
Tú COME
Usted COMA
Vosotros COMED
Ustedes COMAN

VIVIR
Tú VIVE
Usted VIVA
Vosotros VIVID
Ustedes VIVAN

-Irregular verbs:
PAGAR (valid for all irregular verbs ending in -gar)
Tú PAGA
Usted PAGUE
Vosotros PAGAD
Ustedes PAGUEN

ECOGER (valid for all irregular verbs ending in -ger)
Tú ESCOGE
Usted ESCOJA
Vosotros ESCOGED
Ustedes ESCOJAN

PRACTICAR (valid for all irregular verbs ending in -car)
Tú PRACTICA
Usted PRACTIQUE
Vosotros PRACTICAD
Ustedes PRACTIQUEN

CRUZAR (valid for all irregular verbs ending in -zar)
Tú CRUZA
Usted CRUCE
Vosotros CRUZAD
Ustedes CRUCEN
