In Spanish, personal pronouns are:
Yo
Tú
Él/Ella
Nosotros/Nosotras
Vosotros/Vosotras
Ellos/Ellas
-In Spanish, personal pronouns do not always serve verbs.
Yo como una manzana = Como una manzana. (I eat an apple)
Ellos juegan en el parque = Juegan en el parque. (They play in the park)
Ella hace los deberes en la biblioteca = Hace los deberes en la biblioteca. (She does homework in the library)
You can use a personal pronoun and a verb to empathize concepts.
Yo prefiero comer manzanas y tú prefieres comer melocotones. (I prefer to eat apples and you prefer to eat peaches).
-Personal pronouns are commonly used to pair substantives.
Juan y yo somos muy amigos. (Juan and I are friends).
Mi hermana y ella son amigas. (My sister and her are friends).
-To switch to a more formal type of language you use ‘Usted’ instead of ‘Tú’, and ‘Ustedes’ instead of ‘Vosotros/Vosotras’. This isn’t true for some countries in South America, where ‘Vos’ is used to replace ‘Tú’.
Vos no me entendeis. (You don’t understand me).
-In spanish, if you have both a masculine and a feminine subject, the latter gives way to the masculine.
Yo (masculine) + Tú (feminine) = Nosotros
Yo (masculine) + Tú (masculine) = Nosotros
Yo (feminine) + Tú (feminine) = Nosotras
Él (masculine) + Él (masculine) = Ellos
Ella (feminine) + Ella (feminine) = Ellas
Él (masculine) + Ella (feminine) = Ellos
